Trigeneration (CCHP – Combined cooling, heat and power) is the simultaneous production of electricity, heating, and cooling power. The thermal energy recovered by the cogenerator can be converted into cooling power through the introduction of an absorption refrigeration unit. The absorption refrigeration units are designed to use hot or superheated water as the primary energy source.
